I'm half way through and enjoying it. If I could ask SF a few questions they would be as follows:1. What led you to selecting Inga Arvad. 2. J. Edgar had a stash of private stuff he kept sub rosa from outside eyes. How did you gain access to that info? Was it all recovered after his death or was it burned? 3. What is the story of J. Edgar - heterosexual or homosexual deep in the closet? Crossdresser or not? 4. Was Inga monogamous, one man at a time? Did she love all of them or some for utilitarian reasons? 5. What information was the hardest to find and cite as a factual source?This would be a great TV movie in segments - Netflix or HBO, whatever. As Inga, I would like to see Marion Cotillard who is now 41 years old. Dye her hair blonde. Altogether, you have to admire the NOTES section which is meticulousPart 2. I have finished the second half of this lovely book. I only read it while doing laundry. My way of savoring the books I like. In those weeks, each 70 minutes were delightful. As I read it, I began to fall in love with Inga as the woman who comes along once in a lifetime. She had the sad fortune of sometimes falling for otherwise unavailable men. I heard myself saying "Inga, stay away from this guy, nothing will come of it." Timing and circumstance seem to be everything in this life. In the first half of the book, I wrote a review which was actually a series of questions to the author. Low and behold, he answered each one. How nice was that? He wrote this book with a certain sensitivity to women of that period. Women who did not enjoy equal status to men in so many ways. So Mr. Farris, I'll be reading your other books. Of that you can be sure. But I'm busting to know what you're working on now as well. This was a hidden jewel. May you discover many more. If I were one of her sons, I'd be very happy in the way you portrayed her.
